ta-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa

Alrighty folks,

The first real writing assignment is called "The Secret life of Walter Mitty". A short story written by James Thurber(1894-1961) written for the New Yorker. You can read this short story here, the story comes to an abrupt end which could end in any which way. Teach asked us to pull Walter Mitty out of his dream sequence and throw him back into it. This is my addition to the story.

You should read the whole story for the ending to make sense.

Then with that faint, fleeting smile playing across his lips, he faced the firing squad; erect and motionless proud and disdainful, Walter Mitty the Undefeated, inscrutable to the last.
...
"Walter! put that cigarette out and lets get to the car, you're going to catch a cold. You are not a young man any longer." Mrs. Mitty said, grabbing his hand to lead him towards the parking lot. The sound of a horn blared from a car going to fast caught Mitty's attention. With a fleeting smile he pulled his hand from Mrs. Mitty's grasp and broke into a run, his muscles working harder then they had in years. The Buick was speeding towards a young woman crossing the street with a baby carriage. Walter slammed into the carriage pushing the young woman and her baby carriage out of danger. The familiar sound of breaks screeching erupted as the car struck Walter. Blackness engulfed Walter as he heard the unmistakable sound of people running towards him, ta-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa.
...
"The old man ain't afraid of hell!" the men shouted. "He knew we would make it!" The eight-engined Navy hydroplane landed on dry land triumphantly, not a man was lost during its flight.
...
Mitty finished the operation with more then a minute to spare. "You did it doctor, you saved his life." congratulated the nurse.
...
"Welcome home, sir." said the sergeant with a smile, "Forty kilometers through hell and you made it."
"Like I said sergeant, what isn't hell these days."
...
The loud bang of rifles howled through the air. A bullet punching Mitty against the wall.
...

Welcome to my Tavern!

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to my first blog post. In case you are just stumbling upon this or were referred by someone you know, I am partaking on an online portfolio for my grade twelve writers craft class. I haven't decided yet on how I am going to post things but I'll try to update once or twice weekly with the creative writing that I have done in class. But if I start to get excited I'll add some of my writing on the side out side of class. And with that being said.
